Hosting a potpourri of nifty Tools, incl. UNIQUE ones

-
About Azhagi++ - what is Azhagi++?Azhagi++ is a Windows app (with UNIQUE features) and it primarily helps one to do direct typing in all Indian/World languages in all applications.
It contains a potpourri of nifty tools (Tamil Fonts Converter, Sanskrit Tamil Converter, Auto Transliterator, Reverse Transliterator, etc., etc., etc.), some of them being unique, for the benefit of all those who are in need of the same. These tools are handily available via a system tray menu too, in addition to being available in the app's starting screen.
Much like the other apps of azhagi.com, Azhagi++ is also 100% free - For life.
-
What is extra in Azhagi++ - when compared to Azhagi+?Apart from providing the facility to directly type in all Indian/World languages in all applications (just like Azhagi+), Azhagi++ allows even focused typing in a single application. It provides enhanced (super-fast, easy and smart) editing in MS Word. It hosts a potpourri of nifty tools - Tamil Fonts Converter^^, Sanskrit Tamil Colorizer##, Auto Transliterator, Reverse Transliterator, Dual Screen Transliterator, Neo Transliterator, Fonts Viewer, Turbo Fonts Viewer, Fonts and Styles Informer, Unicode Fonts Lister, All Unicode Characters Viewer, URL Normalizer and Win1252 Table Viewer. And, much more..... All details in full in the sections hereunder.
(^^) for direct conversion of MS Word docs, with/without all formatting intact
(##) for direct colorization of super/subscripted Sanskrit Tamil texts inside MS Word docs

How to download Azhagi++? You may download Azhagi++ straightaway from it's download page - https://azhagi.com/azpp-anbe-sivam-download.php - but PLEASE NOTE that if you straightaway download Azhagi++, your antivirus software "may" sometimes wrongly identify it as a virus. To prevent that from happening, you may watch this video hereunder "fully" and thereafter proceed to download Azhagi++ from the Download page of Azhagi++ - https://azhagi.com/azpp-anbe-sivam-download.php. That would be a win-win situation for both of us.

OS and MS Office requirements- Win7 and above. In other words, Win7, Win8, Win10 and Win11 are supported.
- For 'Tamil Fonts Converter' and 'Sanskrit Tamil Colorizer' tools (as well for the 'Super-fast typing' and 'Smart editing' features of the 'Direct typer'), all of MS Office (2007 and above) supported.
- NOTE-1: Azhagi++ is a standalone application like Azhagi+. So, as such, it has no direct connection with MS Word. The 'Tamil Fonts Converter' and 'Sanskrit Tamil Colorizer' (as well as the 'Super-fast typing' and 'Smart editing' features of the 'Direct typer') will come into action only if there are any open MS Word documents.
- NOTE-2: In case (only in the rare case) the MS-Word related tools and features are not working for you, both in Azhagi++ and in AAW, then, I suggest you try to use the latest version of MS Office (e.g. MS Office 365) in your system, if not already using.

- As far as I can say, this is a "Unique" tool (at least amongst free software), for the kind of info it provides. But then, users who work with fonts a lottttt only can exactly tell whether this is a Unique tool or not (at least amongst free software).
- All the columns are sortable. All the columns are resizable also.
- As the 'Status Bar' (at the bottom) in this tool states, this tool provides some valuable extra info (for multi-styled fonts) than what you see in your OS's 'Fonts' folder. But then, I have only Windows 10. Those who have Windows 11 can only let me know whether what the status bar's statement about "extra info" is true for Windows 11 too.
Features overview of the 'Font Viewer' module
-
The interface is the same as in Azhagi+ but I have enhanced it with respect to certain aspects (esp. with respect to 'Win1252 characters - 128 to 159'). If you compare Azhagi+'s "Font Viewer" tool with this one, you can find out the differences, esp. with respect to NonUnicode Tamil fonts.
Features overview of the 'Turbo Font Viewer' module
- Grid-based display.
- You can select characters (anywhere in the grid) with your mouse itself and copy/paste them to the clipboard by clicking the 'Copy characters' button.
- Characters from the full range (0 to 1114111) of Unicode are shown^.
- You can search by a unicode value "dynamically".
- You can search by a character.
- You can increase/decrease font size^^ of characters display "dynamically".
- You can show font names either in English or in that font's language.
- The cells show decimal values in the top right corner.
- The cells have tooltips which clearly show both hexa and decimal values of the characters.
- The character number is also shown in tooltips.
- You can view the characters either by position OR consolidatedly.
- You can see constituent characters when the 'search by character' string contains more than one character in it. For e.g. searching on Sri.
- You can navigate the characters using Prev, Next, First, Last.
- The row heights are changeable using mouse. (^) If code points are present above BMP (basic multilingual plane) in a particular font, few of these code points do not get displayed in certain fonts (e.g. 'UniFont Upper' font. 'Rumi' Numerals, starting from 69216)
(^^) Works in positional view only now.Features overview of the 'All Unicode Characters Viewer' module
- Grid-based display.
- View all Unicode characters (from the BMP alone, as of now) in a single table (of varying columns, as per user's choice).
- Highly flexible, in more than one way.
- You can resize the UV tool's screen. i.e. change the height or width of the screen.
- When you change the width, the number of columns accordingly change, automatically, and the cells of the grid rearrange themselves automatically.
- You can change the height and width of the cell itself globally.
- You just need to press the + and - buttons to change the cell height and width
- When you change the width of the cell globally, the number of columns accordingly change, automatically, and the cells of the grid rearrange themselves automatically.
- Since the number of columns change "dynamically", you can easily copy/paste characters in "different" tabular formats (even as one single column of characters) to whichever other application you wish to. For instance, to Notepad OR ideally to MS Excel.
- You can search for a Unicode character by value (e.g. 2949), "dynamically".
- You can search for a Unicode code point by character (e.g. அ, ஸ்ரீ), "dynamically".
- You can select any set of characters (square or rectangular area) from anywhere (left, middle, right, top, bottom) of the grid.
- You can copy/paste the selected characters from the grid to the clipboard OR the entire set of characters of the grid itself, if you wish to, to the clipboard.
- You can change the font in which the grid's characters are displayed.
- You can change the size of the characters' display too. gd
- The default font, font size, column width and row height you wish to have at the startup of this tool can be set.
Features overview of the 'URL Normalizer' module
- They are self-explanatory, I believe.
Features overview of the 'Sanskrit Tamil Colorizer' module
- It is self-explanatory, as such.
- This app was made to meet the ardent request of an user, over a series of mail correspondences (in 2021).
- What the user (TU, for short) desired can be summarised briefly as follows, via extracts from 2 different mails of TU:
--
I wish to know if Azhagi software or any others like Aksharamukha, can help me transliterate Sanskrit/Devanagari documents to Tamil with color coded fonts (instead of fonts with superscript or subscript coding, which I am currently getting from Aksharamukha app).
Thank you in anticipation of the help you are extending and praying for Blessings of Almighty.
Shall be ever grateful to you for this favor, since this will help lakhs of Tamilians like us to pronounce sanskrit slokas correctly.
-- - Not only the entire document, selected text also can be converted. Of course, in a Super-fast and easy manner.
- The color-coding has been as per user's requirement. If you are interested in this app OR have requirement for this app, then note that the colors can be changed according to your own requirements by editing the 'Settings.txt' file in AAW's 'Sanskrit Tamil Colorizer' folder.
- So, that's all about it.
- Hereunder is TU's response, brimming with immense Gratitude to the Lord Almighty, seeing the solution offered.

Koti koti pranams to the Divinity shining forth in you and the great services you are rendering.
... .. .
Profusely thanking you and heartily praying for your well being 🙏🙏🙏
Lots of wishes and Greatest Regards

Following are some results, as I checked out the features of the Colorizer (in 32-bit MS Word)
- For an input as you find below, it takes less than a second for the colorization to complete, after clicking the 'Colorize Sanskrit Tamil' button.
- For 50 pages of this same text, it takes only 12 seconds (in 'my' Win10 system). A tremendous productivity boost for a user who does this "colorization task" regularly. Added with this is the advantage of having all existing formatting (B/I/U/tables/color/indentation/etc./etc./etc.) in the document intact after conversion.

Features overview of the 'Tamil Fonts Converter' module
- The 'Tamil Fonts Converter' can do the following in any open MS-Word document:
- Unicode to NonUnicode conversion
- NonUnicode to Unicode conversion
- NonUnicode to NonUnicode conversion
- With ALL formatting (Bold, Italic, Underline, Alignment-L/R/C/J, Tables, Colors, etc. etc. etc.) intact.
- In a Super-fast and easy manner. - For all the following cases:
- ANY Selected Text in the document
- Entire text of the document
- From ANY/Default/Specific 'Unicode/NonUnicode font' to ANY/Default/Specific 'NonUnicode/Unicode font'.
- After Unicode to NonUnicode conversion, if at all you wish to, you can convert any of the existing quotes in the document to any of the quotes (usually decorative ones) available in the NonUnicode font. - Examples:
- You can make selections in the converter's opening screen in such a way that in a document containing Unicode Tamil text in several Unicode fonts (Vijaya, Latha, Nirmala UI, etc.), the converter converts Tamil text in 'Nirmala UI' font alone to 'Ka Aanandham' NonUnicode font specifically. Tamil texts in fonts other than 'Nirmala UI' (Latha, Vijaya, etc.) will be left intact, without conversion.
- Similarly, you can make selections in the converter's opening screen in such a way that in a document containing NonUnicode Tamil texts in several 'Ka' fonts (Aanandham, Virundhu, Yaazh, etc.), the converter converts Tamil text in 'Ka Yaazh' font alone to 'Arial Unicode MS' font specifically. NonUnicode Tamil texts in fonts other than 'Ka Yaazh' will be left intact, without conversion.
- During any conversion process, the English texts will be kept intact. - NOTE-1:
Inter-family conversion is also possible (e.g. Unicode Latha to Unicode Nirmala UI; Ka Brammam to Ka Virundhu) in a 2-step process. I will try to make it straightforward (1-step process) in a later version.
Simple cases of changing texts in one unicode Tamil font (Latha) to another one (Nirmala UI) is easy to effect manually itself - just select the text and apply a different font. But, what I am referring to are the "not-so-simple" cases. For instance, kindly consider the following:
Suppose there is a 100-page document which has Tamil texts in multiple Tamil Unicode fonts and suppose you need only Tamil texts in 'Latha' font to be converted to 'Nirmala UI' font. Doing it manually (selecting and changing font) in a 100-page document would be highly time-consuming. - Data files used by the converter:
--
AzhagiPlus-TamilFontEncodings-DefaultFontToBeUsed.txt
AzhagiPlus-NonUniSearchPatterns.txt
AzhagiPlus-Unicode fonts.txt
AzhagiPlus-TamilFontEncodings.txt
--
- Customisable data files
The first 3 files in the above list of 'Data file' are customisable! i.e. you can edit them to suit your own convenience.
But, please take time to understand the logic behind these text files so that you edit them correctly.
Particularly, in the case of the first 2 files, take care that the lines count remain intact (as in the original). That's paramount.
- Data files generated by the converter itself (to be read and used consequently):
--
AzhagiPlus-WinFontsList.txt
--
- Unicode, SaiIndira, TSCII, TAB, TAM, Bamini & TamilBible, Vanavil, Shreelipi, STMZH, LT-TM [same as IndoWord], Gee_Tamil, DCI+Tml+Ismail, SunTommy, ELCOT-ANSI, ELCOT-Bilingual, Diamond, Amudham, Ka, Shree, Mylai Plain, TACE, Elango, Periyar, Priya, Chenet Platinum, KrutiTamil, TM-TTValluvar, Roja, MCL Kannamai, Baamini [not the same as Bamini], Needhimathi, Pandian, TBoomiS, APT-Sangam, Dev, TA-Arul, Sashi, Ganesha, Lakshmi, Tamil-Aiswarya, Adhawin, TmlCheran, Avaice Jasmine, KavipPriya, Vikatan - these are the 46 Tamil font encodings for which to-and-fro Tamil fonts conversion is possible.
- Some font encodings like SR, RGB, etc. are covered under STMZH itself as their styles are exactly the same as STMZH. Same is the case with CN fonts (same as Chenet Platinu), Kalaham (same as Bamini), etc.
- Patterns for fonts can be set in 'AzhagiPlus-NonUniSearchPatterns.txt' file (you can find this file in "C:\Azhagi - God's Own App\Azhagi's Addins For MS Word\Tamil Fonts Converter\" folder). For e.g. "STMZH, SR-, RGB_, RGB-, ST-" | "Bamini, Kalaham" | "Ka , JF" | etc. What this means is that when someone selects an encoding like STMZH in AAW's Tamil Fonts Converter (TFC, for short), the fonts listed under "Select From/To NonUni Font" will have not only your installed STMZH fonts listed but SR, RGB, etc. fonts too.
- There is a 'swap' button (<>) available for swapping from/to font encodings easily.
- All the options and selections in the 'Tamil Fonts Converter' screen are saved so that TFC always starts with the last saved settings.
- There is a 'Convert As Plain Text' option also in TFC. Plain text conversions will always be lightning fast (for e.g. just 1 to 2 seconds even for a 60 pages MS Word document). That means, for 1 or 2 pages OR for very short texts, the time taken for conversion will be in micro/milliseconds and hence the TFC screen would report that as "0 seconds" only.
- Apart from the above, please see the 'Change Log' in the download page of Azhagi++ too, to see the latest features added or latest modifications done with respect to the 'Tamil Fonts Converter' in it, as I keep releasing new versions of Azhagi++ too, now and then.
Following are some results, as I checked out the features of the converter (in 32-bit MS Word)
NonUnicode to Unicode- Selected text (having punctuations, vowel signs, English texts in-between, texts in "multiple" NonUnicode fonts) to 'Unicode' conversion - ALL following cases perfect
- From 'Single' NonUnicode font (e.g. TA-Arul) to ANY Unicode font (i.e. system-defined default Unicode font.)
- From 'Single' NonUnicode font (e.g. TA-Arul) to Default Unicode font (Nirmala UI, as per "my" choice)
- From 'Single' NonUnicode font (e.g. TA-Arul) to Specific Unicode font (e.g. Tscu_SaiIndira)
- From multiple NonUnicode fonts (Ka Anandham, Ka Agal, Ka Viradham, Ka Virundhu, Ka Yaazh, Bamini, TA-Arul) in a selected text in a table. Conversion of that selected text from 'Ka' to 'Unicode (ATM 546)' was all correct. 5 Ka fonts converted. Bamini, TA-Arul and English texts intact.
- Conversion of selected text in tables also - Entire text
- Lots of pages (conversion of 72 pages TA-Arul[single font] document with multi-column table in all 72 pages "with punctuations, mumbers, english texts" to specific Unicode font [TSCu_SaiIndira] in 317 seconds)
- Conversion of 20 pages document with multiple NonUnicode fonts (Ka anandham, agal, viradham, virundhu, yaazh, Bamini, TA-Arul) with normal and table texts in each page. Conversion of that document from 'Ka' encoding (Any font) to specific Unicode font (uniAmma-1) was all correct. 5 Ka fonts got converted. Bamini, TA-Arul and English texts remained intact in their respective fonts. The conversion took 67 seconds.
- Conversion of 84 pages SunTommy document with multi-colum tables to Unicode conversion - 214 seconds
- Conversion of 80 pages 'Tamil Aiswarya Pulli' encoded document (with multi-column tables) to Vijaya Unicode font - 183 seconds
- Selected text (having punctuations, vowel signs, texts in "multiple" Unicode fonts) to 'NonUnicode' conversion - ALL following cases perfect.
- In/From specific Unicode font (e.g. Tau-Marutham, Vijaya, etc.)
- In/From default Unicode font (Nirmala UI, as per "my" choice)
- In/From ANY Unicode font
- In tables also
- With old 'ir ri ree' also - Entire text (having punctuations, vowel signs, texts in "multiple" Unicode fonts) TO Bamini, Dci-Tamil-Ismail, etc.
- In/From specific Unicode font (e.g. Tau-Marutham, Vijaya, etc.)
- In/From default Unicode font (Nirmala UI, as per "my" choice)
- In/From ANY Unicode font
- In tables also
- With old 'ir ri ree' also (use TAB font for NonUnicode font; you can see the difference nicely for old/new ir ri ree)
- Lots of pages (conversion of 77 pages Unicode document with multi-column table in all 77 pages "with punctuations, mumbers, english texts" to TA-Arul font in 174 seconds)
- Same above Unicode document to SunTommy conversion - 125 seconds
- Conversion of 77 pages Vijaya font document (with multi-column tables) to 'Tamil Aiswarya Pulli' encoding - 108 seconds
- Note-1: Conversion of selected text takes longer time (relatively) than conversion of entire text. So, unless otherwise needed, you may use 'Entire text' conversion itself. However, if time is not a constraint, you can very well go ahead using 'Selected text' conversion. It works perfectly. If time is indeed a constraint and if your selected text is large, then I suggest you copy/paste the selected text (from the document you are currently working with) to a new blank document and convert that new document's contents. Once that conversion is completed, you can copy/paste the new document's contents into the document you are currently working with.
- Note-2: If you try to convert from Unicode to NonUnicode but if the text to be converted has content in that NonUnicode text itself intermixed already, then punctuation characters in that NonUnicode font (say, semicolon appearing as mey-pulli in a NonUnicode font) will get converted to visible punctuation characters in that same font. For e.g. semilon appearing as mey-pulli in Bamini font will appear as semicolon itself in Bamini font. In Bamini font, '@' character is semicolon. One way to avoid this happening is to choose a specific Unicode font (say, 'Latha' font) before starting the conversion. For that, ideally, your document should have all Unicode content in one Unicode font only (say, 'Latha' font)
- Note-3: The times (in seconds) I have given above are based on my own Win10 system's configuration. It may differ in your system based on your system's configuration.

The unique and enhanced 'Direct Typer' of Azhagi++ - a treat to type in MS Word using Azhagi++'s 'Direct Typer'.Introduction
The 'Direct Typing' feature which you find in Azhagi++ has an 'X' factor, 🙂 so to say, during Tamil typing, and gives you a Unique editing experience (superfast and easy) while typing in Tamil in MS Word. Plus, much much more.....
Azhagi++'s Direct Typer (DT, for short). What does it do?
As of Jan-2024, DT helps to transliterate in ALL World languages in ANY application (MS Word, etc.), in a much enhanced manner, when compared to Azhagi+. For a better understanding, kindly see the screenshot below. Please note that if your wish is to type directly in ANY language in any application, then just start and keep Azhagi++ running. Thats all. This is similar to how Azhagi+ needs to be kept running, if you wish to type in any language.
Is there any other 'Direct Typer' like the one found in Azhagi++?
As far as I can say, there is no 'Direct Typer' like the one you find in Azhagi++.Direct Typer - Screenshot
It is just the opening screen of Azhagi++ itself.

Features overview of DT
- At any point of time, you can choose to transliterate in ANY language - EITHER in all the applications OR in a single application alone even (e.g. Notepad)
- Single-application Focussed typing can be of tremendous help to some users since once you press your hotkey in a particular application with an intention to keep typing in a 'particular language' (e.g. Tamil) in that application alone, then, if you switch over to another application, type in English as usual in that application, and come back to your 'Focussed application', then you can straightaway start typing in that 'particular language' in it, from where you left off earlier. No need to press any hotkey again.
- The default hotkey for typing is set to Ctrl+` (i.e. Control + Backquote character)
- You can change the default hotkey or presently active hotkey, in various ways. Along with the modifiers (Ctrl, Alt, Shift, Win), you can have either of A to Z (OR) either of the punctuations {` - = [ ] \ ; ' / . ,} (OR) either of F1-to-F12 (OR) either of 0-to-9. You can of course choose 'None' too.
- When setting/changing your hotkey, the keys "F1-to-F12" and "0-to-9" will be available for selection 'only if you opt for the same'. My suggestion is not to enable them unless you are confident that you will not choose an hotkey which is already used in Azhagi+. Suppose Azhagi+ is not running and if you choose an hotkey for your DT which is already set in Azhagi+, then it may not be enabled in Azhagi+ when you start Azhagi+ again, with Azhagi++ also active simultaneously. So, kindly choose your hotkeys in Azhagi++ prudently. Since the reverse case is also possible - choosing an hotkey in Azhagi+ which is already set in Azhagi++, kindly be discrete while setting/changing your hotkey, with the option "Include the keys F1-F12, 0-9 too" kept ticked.
- You can start typing in ANY language even without pressing any hotkey too. For that, you just need to middle-click the Azhagi++ tray icon. That's all to it. Just middle-click the Azhagi++ tray icon again, to start typing in English as usual. This exact functionality can also be achieved by clicking the menu item 'Start/Stop' Global typing in Azhagi++'s opening screen OR right-clicking the tray icon and clicking the menu item "Start/Stop Global typing".
- There is an option to start typing in a particular LFK (language+font+keyboard combo) in all applications, "automatically" too, as soon as Azhagi++ is started. i.e. even without pressing any hotkey OR even without middle-clicking the 'tray icon'. As soon as you start Azhagi++, you can start typing in that particular LFK anywhere. To get back to typing in English, of course, you will need to press the currently active hotkey OR middle-click the 'Tray icon'. You can of course choose to close Azhagi++ itself. That will "automatically" enable your normal English typing.
- Coming to the 'X' factor 🙂, you can use the 'x' modifier to effect a variety of modifications to the text you type. For e.g., after typing 'ல்', if you press 'x', it will turn to 'ள்'. If you press 'x' again, it will turn to 'ல்'. This is just one example. You can do the same in the case of ர்/ற், ன்/ண், ல்ல், ள்ள், ர்ர், ற்ற், ன்ன், ண்ண், எ, ஒ, ஏ, ஓ, etc. etc. etc. The whole set of such modifications can be found in the file xmods-Tamil-Unicode-PhoneticTransliteration.txt (C:\..\..\Azhagi++\Atma\aathmaa\azXMLs\Tamil\xmods-Tamil-Unicode-PhoneticTransliteration.txt). You can see a gist of the x-modifier mappings, a tabulated list and few other related things online too - at az-tamil-modern.php#x-mods.
NOTE: 'x' modifier is liberally used in the mappings of other Indian languages (Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, etc.) in Azhagi+. The same strategy I have used for Tamil also. So, it is not anything new I am introducing. In fact, I have implemented this 'x' modifier for Tamil transliteration in 2016 itself, but in Azhagi's Android App (aa.php). You can view Azhagi Android app's Tamil transliteration scheme's key mappings here. Therein, I have written about the 'x' modifiers. - If you are used to typing in Alt+4 phonetic mode of Azhagi+ (ee=ஏ, oo=ஓ, wa=ந), then you have the option to use these mappings alone along with the supreme flexibility which the Alt+3 PhoneticTransliteration mode of Azhagi+ offers (while typing a variety of words like manju, mandram, viswam, neenga, katru, dheivam, mei, kaai, poi, etc. etc. etc.) which the Alt+4 typing mode does not offer you. If you wish to, you can effect some other alternate mappings changes too, the whole set of which can be found in the beginning section of the xmods-Tamil-Unicode-PhoneticTransliteration.txt file.
- Coming to the Super-FAST 🙂 editing which is possible in MS Word (in MS Word alone). Well, if you are someone accustomed to typing in MS Word only (or predominantly in MS Word only), then you are in for a Splendiferous TREAT 🙂, so to say, while editing your already typed text. First of all, whenever you move your cursor around and start typing in a different point of your document, you can press 'n' to get 'ந்' anywhere at the start of a new word!!! If you press 'n' anywhere in the middle of a Tamil word, you will get 'ன்' only! And, to change a word like 'இறைவன்' to 'இறைவனால்', it is just enough to place your cursor after 'ன்' and type 'aal'!!! No need to delete 'ன்' and type 'naal'. Similar kind of editing is possible for any Tamil word.
- In order to provide an additional way to type Egaaram, the key mapping 'eee' has also been introduced. So, you can type 'keee' also to get கே. Furthermore, during editing, you can avail the 'x' modifier and type 'x' after 'கெ' to change it to கே. All said and done, if 'Use alternate mappings' is in ticked status, then you can type 'kee' itself to get கே. Also, during editing, you can press 'e' itself after 'கெ' to change it to கே.
- Similarly, as an additional way to type Ogaaram, the key mapping 'ooo' also has been introduced. So, you can type 'kooo' also to get கோ. Furthermore, during editing, you can avail the 'x' modifier and type 'x' after 'கொ' to change it to கோ. All said and done, if 'Use alternate mappings' is in ticked status, then you can type 'koo' itself to get கோ. Also, during editing, you can press 'o' itself after 'கொ' to change it to கோ.
- To facilitate typing words like மெய்ஞ்ஞானம் without using shift key (for typing G), the additional mapping 'gngn' has been introduced. So, typing 'meygngnaanam' itself will give மெய்ஞ்ஞானம். No need to type 'meyGnGnaanam' though that will also work, as usual.
- By the by, whenever you are typing in Tamil, either the 'TA' icon (for global typing) OR the 'அ' icon (for single application typing) will appear in the system tray.
- In order to use the 'x' modifier and alternate mappings to your own best preferred convenience, you can just edit the xmods-Tamil-Unicode-PhoneticTransliteration.txt file directly in Notepad. Under the "Remarks" tag in this file, I have clearly explained various aspects of this file. Please read, explore and most importantly write back your hearty feelings upon using them.
- If you can come up with your own good set of "'x' modifiers AND alternate mappings" and share it with me and/or in the FILES section (https://www.facebook.com/groups/azhagi/files) of Azhagi's Facebook Group, I would feel mighty glad.
Note: I myself have not tried modifying the "xmods-Tamil-Unicode-PhoneticTransliteration.txt" file yet. I just created this file in 2019 and afterwards I came back to it only in 2022, to release it in AAW first and now in Azhagi++. I believe the mappings are modifiable (to a good extent) to suit one's own convenience. Kindly explore and let me know. - If you feel like using a modifier other than 'x', then that is also possible. Two other characters can be specified in the abovementioned file - either \ (backslash) OR ` (backquote character). Personally, I use 'x' itself since I do not make use of 'x' to type 'க்ஷ்'.
- There is an option for Smart Editing, which you can avail, if you wish to. All about it here.
- There is an option related to 'Editing of Tamil texts copy/pasted from external sources'. This option is also explained in the abovementioned link. So, please visit and read.
- Please note that you can transliterate in Tamil in the text areas of RT (reverse transltieration), AT (auto transliterator), etc. tools too by pressing the hotkey for Tamil typing.
- I am sure the ardent users of Alt+3 OR Alt+4 phonetic transliteration typing modes of Azhagi+ will have a great time exploring DT and enjoying its fantabulous features and thus contribute further more in further less time to the society. My best wishes to anyone for one's all noble endeavours.
- As I always keep saying and writing, Azhagi is God's Own App. So, as an user, myself, of God's Own App Azhagi, I am really loving/admiring the features of DT. I really do feel happy to that extent that I use words like 'splendiferous', 'fantabulous', etc. and share such happy feelings with you all. As written here in great detail, it would be fantastic if any established entity can take up Azhagi and spread it to all on a very large scale, keeping it free all the time. No need to mention anything at all, of the history of Azhagi or about me, a non-entity. The app's name also can be changed (need not be retained as Azhagi), if the entity wants to. My only humble requirement/request would be to keep Azhagi free at all the times. That's all.
- The 'X' modifier and 'alternate mappings' aspect of DT, along with the AT and RT tools (and a few more) were ready in 2019 Jan or so itself, as part of Azhagi+ 10.46 (the supposedly next version of Azhagi+). But then, I just could not release Azhagi+ 10.46 at all after testing out all the various modules I had added in it. Happy that a way was shown by the Lord Almighty, at last, to release the modules already done (as part of the upcoming Azhagi+ 10.46), one by one, through AAW first, and now through Azhagi+ too.
- Well, in light of the above info, you can very well realise that more features/tools might get added 🙂 to Azhagi++ in times to come, in addition to the ones present now.
Please share your feelings of joy, gratitude and appreciation, uninhibitedly
As I keep saying repeatedly, Azhagi is God's Own App. So, the more you keep sharing your happiness (esp. effervescently, if you can, as written in detail here) on DT's features, the more Glory and Thanks to the Lord Almighty. Not anything you say appreciatively on DT goes to me, as I am a non-entity. All your feelings of joy, gratitude and appreciation reaches the Lord Almighty straight. That's the spirit in which I work with respect to Azhagi SatKarma. As Ever, All Glory and Thanks to the Lord Almighty only. For Ever. I am an utter non-entity.
So, my most humble request is that before trying to find out any bugs in DT and report the same to me, kindly share with me FIRST as to what you feel about Azhagi++'s various modules DT, AT, RT, etc.) and their features.
That's to say, as such, you need not even try out Azhagi++, initially. After going through the web page links carrying the features of Azhagi++'s various modules, just let me know heartily first, as to what you feel about the various tools (DT, AT, RT, etc.) and their features. That's what I welcome foremost, as the very first thing, from any user.
What is important for me (from any user), as one's initial feedback, upon getting to know and use a new tool/feature of Azhagi++, is your hearty feelings. I have already written about this in detail at https://azhagi.com/azhagi's-addins-for-msword.php#kesavan. Please read, if and when your time/interest permits.

Salient points and 'UNIQUE and Special features/tools of Azhagi++, in a gist'- The much enhanced 'Direct Typing' feature in Azhagi++ has been explained under the 'Direct Typer' section in this same page (and also in a separate page - https://azhagi.com/azpp-direct-typer.php) - please read it, for sure, so that you can reap full benefits while typing, esp. in MS Word.
- All the tools can be accessed both from the opening screen of Azhagi++ and from the tray icon menu.
- You can Click-start or Click-stop the process of "Global Tamil/Indic typing" from both the opening screen and from the tray icon menu.
- In the opening screen of Azhagi++, the above is achieved by clicking the menu item 'Start/Stop' Global typing in Azhagi++'s opening screen.
- In the system tray icon of Azhagi++, the same is achieved EITHER by middle-clicking on Azhagi++'s tray icon OR right-clicking and clicking the menu item "Start/Stop Global typing".
- When you do global typing, 'TA' icon (for Tamil typing) or the corresponding Indian language icon (for e.g. 'HI' for Hindi) will appear in the system tray. When you do 'single application' typing, 'அ' icon will appear in the system tray for Tamil typing. For other languages, the corresponding Indian language icon will appear, but in white background (in contrast to the saffron background in the case of global typing).
- The opening screen of Azhagi++ now sports a TABBED interface, the first of the tabs listing all the LFKs available in Azhagi++, in a scrollable Grid ("Lister", as I call it).
- No need to remember even a single hotkey combination since Azhagi++ can help one type in any LFK ('Language + Font + Keyboard' combo) without the need to press any hotkey itself.
- And, with the help of the new Grid-based typing (esp. the "Floater", one can just list the LFKs one needs alone, in the opening screen. In other words, it is possible for you to display even just one LFK alone (out of the over 700+ LFKs which Azhagi++ supports now, as of Nov 2023) in Azhagi++'s opening screen.
- The different way in which hotkeys work for enabling/stopping global/focused typing, along with the new "Grid"-based global/focused typing are explained separately - here, here and here - in detail.
- Apart from the above, please see the 'Change Log' in the download page of Azhagi++ too, to see the latest features added or latest modifications done, as I keep releasing new versions of Azhagi++ now and then.
- I observed that minimising the MS Word window during conversion helps to convert the texts faster.
- Also, if formatting is not essential to be maintained for you (either for some selected text OR the whole document), then, you can always tick the 'Convert As Plain Text' option.
- I observed that if more then one document are opened, clicking the 'Convert' button in TFC effects the conversion in the currently open document window. If all ms word windows are minimised, then conversion takes place in the last minimised window.
Important NOTE: It is possible to swap the default functionality of the left and middle mouse buttons (when clicking on Azhagi++'s system tray icon). You can do that by choosing the appropriate option for 'Swap Left and Middle-Click Functionality' item in the 'Settings' screen. Once that is done, you can just left-click the Azhagi++ tray icon itself to start/stop 'Global Tamil typing'. You can use middle-click to show/hide Azhagi++'s starting screen.

Adiyen dasan.
Excellent. My vocabulary is very poor to correctly express my excitement after I installed Azhagi++ Version 6 and tried with that.
In LibreOffice Writer, I am able to seamlessly type in Tamil, Sanskrit and Grantha.
Great! How shall we thank you! Adiyen can only pray to our Thayar to Bless you good health, a health that you enjoyed in college and before visiting Japan. Thanks again.

"This is such a deep work, involving lots of mental squeezing. Surely the joy and satisfaction one gets after such a work, when one sees the results of the conceptualisation finally getting fructified, is indeed indescribable."
"Actually you have done such a big development work. Normally, in a software company, it is done as a team work. You have done this individually. I don't know what is the reward for this. But, God will definitely give a reward since you have done this for the society."

- uuw8: It's wonderful addin, anna, I have seen so far.
Very very very very much useful tool, anna.
- uuw9: I have just successfully converted the font from the {MS Word}document itself based on your guidance! ... .. .
Thank you so much for sparing your time. May your service to humanity shine always.
- A note on uww2:
Actually, uww2 was persistently asking for 'English fonts retainment' (during NonUnicode to Unicode conversion) and 'Specific font conversion' in MS Word since the last 5 years or so. Time and again he would message me asking whether these features have been accomplished. And, he has been persistently asking for Tamil fonts conversion inside MS Excel documents too since the past 4 or 5 years. That way, he is extremely in need of AAE (Azhagi's Addins for MS Excel) and looking forward to the same eagerly. - My reply to uww1 hereunder:

Should I uninstall Azhagi+ before installing Azhagi++? Will instaling Azhagi++ cause any issues in/while working with Azhagi+?- Azhagi+ shall not be UNinstalled, as of Dec 2023, since you may need to familiarise yourself with Azhagi++.
- Also, Azhagi++ can easily run independently of Azhagi+. In other words, both Azhagi+ and Azhagi++ can be running at the same time. So, no need to uninstall Azhagi+, as such.
- In order to avoid conflict with Azhagi+, "Alt+3, Alt+4, Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, Ctrl+3, Ctrl+4, Ctrl+5, etc., etc., etc." hotkeys do not work in Azhagi++, by default. Only if user wishes, he/she can include Azhagi+'s keys (0-9, F1-F12) too while setting the hotkey.
- In other words, Azhagi++'s default hotkeys are separate and completely different from Azhagi+'s hotkeys.
Totally new to Azhagi's free apps?-
In case you have never used any of Azhagi's free apps earlier and have come here straight, I kindly request and suggest you to first download^^ and start using Azhagi+ (AzhagiPlus, released in 2011), get to know Azhagi's history since 2000, get to read the supremely hearty testimonials for it from its users, get to know about the media reviews for it, get to know about its range of users and extent of reach. After doing all that, if you are convinced that you can go ahead with the "downloading/installing/using" of Azhagi++ too, then come back to this page, download Azhagi++ and start using it.
(^^) Azhagi+ is a straight download for anybody from https://azhagi.com/store#download. No need to read&confirm anything (as in this page). So, go ahead, download Azhagi+ and start using it. My best of prayers for all your noble deeds using Azhagi+.

Tray icon'-related screenshots
Important NOTE: It is possible to swap the default functionality of left-click and middle-click by choosing the appropriate option for 'Swap Left and Middle-Click Functionality' item in the 'Settings' screen. Once you do that, you can just left-click the Azhagi++ tray icon itself to start/stop 'Global Tamil typing'. You can use middle-click to show/hide Azhagi++'s starting screen.
'Settings' screen
The TABs' THEMER- You can change the theme of the tab interface which appears in the starting screen of Azhagi++. To do the same, select your preferred theme from the listbox to the left side of the 'HELP' button (at the right bottom of the main grid). Please see screenshot below for better understanding.

Adding your own LFKs ("Language + Font + Keyboard" combos) to Azhagi++- Very much possible! Assuming you installed Azhagi++ in "C:\Love-IS-God\God's Own App\Azhagi++\", then, copy your own ".xml" or ".txt" file to "C:\Love-IS-God\God's Own App\Azhagi++\Atma\Indic Direct Typer\azLFKs-txts-xmls" folder and restart Azhagi++. That is all to it.
- It is possible to delete '.xml' and .'txt' files which you do not want, too. But, I would advise one not to do the same since anyway using the FINALIZER, you can very easily have only those LFKs which you need alone visible to you, at any point of time.
Hotkeys functionality in Azhagi++- To start typing in any particular LFK, just press it's corresponding hotkey (shortcut key, as some users call it).
- For the purpose of easy understanding, I have maintained using the same word 'hotkey' (shortcut key) itself, both in Azhagi++ app and in this documentation. Otherwise, the right phrase to use would be "Key Sequence" perhaps.
- Because, what you will be actually doing, in Azhagi++ (compared to Azhagi+), is to press/type a sequence of keys rather than pressing an actual hotkey.
- For e.g. to start typing in the LFK whose hotkey is designated as 'PrntScr and 1', first press 'PrntScr'. Then, press '1'.
- Similarly, to start typing in the LFK whose hotkey is designated as 'PrntScr and 2', first press 'PrntScr'. Then, press '2'.
- And, so on.....
- Please CAREFULLY NOTE that you should NOT press '1' even while holding 'PrntScr' (as you do normally when using shortcut keys like Ctrl+C, where you hold the 'Ctrl' key and then press 'c'). You just need to press the 'PrntScr' key once (i.e. press the 'PrntScr' key and release it completely). Then press '1'. That's all.
- As in Azhagi+, in Azhagi++ also, every hotkey is a toggle. Press it once, you start typing in Tamil/Indic/World langauges. Press it again. You can start typing in English, as usual.
- There is one special hotkey introduced in Azhagi++ though. It is 'PrntScr and 0'. This hotkey will be considered as a hotkey to stop typing. For instance, suppose you have started typing in your preferred LFK (say, with hotkey 'PrntScr and 1') and you want to switch back to typing in English. Then you can press 'PrntScr and 0' also, not necessarily 'PrntScr and 1'.
- In the above context, I wish to tell you that you can press the global hotkey also, instead of 'PrntScr and 0'. About the global hotkey (Ctrl+` is the default), I have explained separately here.
- Ideally, I dont think anyone would be having the need to type in more than 5 to 6 LFKs maximum. But, in case you have the need to type in more than 9 LFKs, then to type in an LFK numbered more than 9, for e.g. LFK No.12, you need to press 'PrntScr', followed by '1', followed by '2'.
Global hotkey- The default global hotkey is Ctrl+`. You can change it to any other hotkey of your convenience.
- If you are accustomed to the global hotkey, esp. F10, then you can change the default hotkey (Ctrl+`) to F10 itself in Azhagi++ also. The global hotkey always acts on the LFK currently set selected in the LFKs Lister in the opening screen of Azhagi++.
Note: If F10 is set as global hotkey in Azhagi++, you should ensure that the global hotkey in Azhagi+ is not F10, in case you wish to operate both Azhagi+ and Azhagi++ at the same time. - To get back to typing in English, apart from pressing the same 'Key Sequence' again, you can also press the global hotkey (or use one of the any other methods which is available in Azhagi++).
Tips- To type your number(s) sequence, you can use the digit keys in the number pad also.
- After pressing 'PrntScr', if you press any non-numerical key, then that key would be get typed/processed normally, as per the currently active LFK.
- After pressing 'PrntScr' and after pressing one or more digit keys, if you press any non-numerical key, then that key would get typed/processed normally, as per the newly activated LFK.
- After pressing 'PrntScr', when you start pressing a sequence of digit keys, whenever the number formed by that sequence exceeds the total number of LFKs, then the number formed by the sequence of digit keys pressed upto the last but one will be considered and the corresponding LFK will get activated so that user can start typing in the same. For example, if you press 'PrntScr', and then press '9', '9'. '9' and if 999 exceeds the total number of LFKs, then LFK No.99 will be activated. The last '9' will get typed/processed normally as per the newly activated LFK.
- If you type in only one LFK and if you feel 'PrntScr' and '9' would be the most convenient key sequence for you, then just see to it and that that favorite LFK of yours is designated the hotkey 'PrntScr and 9'. That's all to it. To do the same, you need to click the button 'Reorder the above LFKs'. About this procedure, I have explained here.
- In the 'Finalizer' screen, you can drag and drop an LFK from its current position to any other position. So, that way, you can easily fix the number for any of the LFKs. To start drag and drop, click-press the 1st column's cell of any row(LFK), drag it up or down (over the other rows), and then release the click-press at the desired row position.
- Much similar to 'PrntScr', you can use the 'Caps Lock' also as a hotkey. For this, you need to choose '1' for the option "Use 'CapsLock' key for changing LFK?" in the Settings' screen. Thereafter, you can use 'CapsLock and 1', 'CapsLock and 2', 'CapsLock and 3', 'and so on and so on' too, as hotkeys.
Advantages of a "'Key Sequence' as Hotkey" rather than an actual Hotkey- No hotkey clash with other applications, incl. other indic application
- If needed, you can have the global hotkey to be 'NONE' too so that absolutely no problems using other Indic apps along with Azhagi++.
- An inquisitive and sharp mind like Shri. Gopalan sir can have all the LFKs ON at all times so that he can try out typing in any LFK at any time just by typing its number (after PrntScr) itself.
- If you keep 'Alt' also ON (as a 'LFK changer' key) via 'Settings', then you can use 'Alt and 3' also as hotkey for Tamil, apart from 'PrntScr and 3'.
- As an user, I am settled with using PrntScr alone, as of now. I am fully comfortable with it. Choice is yours though.
Notifications and Sounds- You can have text notifications to intimate you whenever you start typing in an LFK, whenever you change your LFK, etc. They will appear as pop-ups at the right bottom of your screen.
- You can specify a sound file to play whenever such notifications pop up. You can specify the full sound file path itself inside "! ! NotifierSounds - FilePaths.txt". Example: "C:\Windows\Media\Windows Notify.wav"
- Specifying an mp3 sound to play is possible but only after converting that .mp3 file to a .wav file. For example, assuming you installed Azhagi++ in "C:\Love-IS-God\God's Own App\Azhagi++\", then, an mp3 file of yours, say "Aum.mp3" can be converted to "Aum.wav" and copied to "C:\Love-IS-God\God's Own App\Azhagi++\Atma\Indic Direct Typer\Notifier Sounds" and renamed to "! ! NotifierSound.wav" thereafter.
- Alternatively, after copying, you need not even rename "Aum.wav". You can just specify its path inside "NotifierSounds - FilePaths.txt" as "C:\Love-IS-God\God's Own App\Azhagi++\Atma\Indic Direct Typer\Notifier Sounds\Aum.wav". In fact, if you wish to, you can just mention "Aum.wav" even without mentioning the full path inside ""NotifierSounds - FilePaths.txt". In such cases, the path will be automatically considered as "C:\Love-IS-God\God's Own App\Azhagi++\Atma\Indic Direct Typer\Notifier Sounds\Aum.wav".
- The idea behind the above process is just to see that the Divinely "Aum" (or any other Divine name, as per your preference) gets recited whenever you start Azhagi++, whenever you start typing using Azhagi++, etc. Those who know about Azhagi's XMLs files know already that I have used the tag "<OM>" for such similar Divine/Spiritual purposes
- Note: As of 25-Nov-2023, sounds during notifications are not getting effected in Win11. Will try to set this right, when possible. Will also try to see that .mp3 files are also playable directly, without converting them to .wav files.
Language indicators- Extra language indicator icons are present in Azhagi++ (when compared to Azhagi+). For e.g., when you start typing in Sourashtra language, the language indicator icon would show "SZ".
- When you do focused typing, the background of the icons would be white. For Tamil alone, a separate icon 'அ' will get shown.
- Whenever a language does not have a specific icon, the generic icon 'OL' (an 'L' inside an 'O') will get shown, meaning 'Other Languages'.
"Grid"-based Typing- Azhagi provides typing based on a Grid, where all the LFKs are available listed in a grid. Well, it is just not the listing which is significant here but the fact that you can enable typing using this grid, without the need to know anything about the hotkeys at all. In other words, you can type in ALL the Lfks without pressing any hotkey itself. Yes!
- If you are NOT keen in 'single application' typing and feel that you may not have the need for the 'Floater' either, then the LFKs listed in the Lister (the main grid in the opening screen of Azhagi++) will suffice for you.
- Just click on any LFK in the 'Lister' to see it highlighted in apple green. Thereafter, you can go to any application and start typing in that LFK. Just click on the same LFK again in the 'Lister' to see it highlighted in rose/red. Thereafter, you can go to any application and start typing in English as usual. It is as simple as that.
- And, if you have a feeling in your mind that it will be great if the 'Lister' allows you to have just the LFKs you need alone, then that is very much possible with Azhagi++. Using the 'Finalizer' tool, you can reorder the LFKs and have them appear just exactly as you want them to be. All you need to do is to click on the 'Reorder the above LFKs' button in Azhagi++'s opening screen and you can get to see all those facilities that are provided to you so that you can have your preferred LFKs list, perfected to a tee, along with your 'preferred hotkeys for each of the LFKs'.
- Please note that you can resize the columns of both the 'Lister' grid and the 'Floater' grid, manually, by dragging the vertical dividers (present at the left and/or right of the column headers).
- As of now, I decided not to allow the resizing of the 'No.' column (in both the abovementioned grids) as well as the 'Selected' column in the 'Floater' grid.
- Instead of resizing, you can have one or more of the columns of the 'Lister' get completely hidden too. For this purpose, you can use the options "Use floater's columns' hidden status for lister?" and "Hide the 'Help' column of the main grid?" in the 'Settings' screen.
The LFKs LISTER- This is the main LFKs lister (at your service), showing either the default OR your 'finalised' list of LFKs, as soon as you start Azhagi++.

- Just click on any LFK in the above 'Lister' to see it highlighted in apple green. Thereafter, you can go to any application and start typing in that LFK.
- Just click on the same LFK again in the 'Lister' to see it highlighted in rose/red. Thereafter, you can go to any application and start typing in English as usual. It is as simple as that.
- And, if you have a feeling in your mind that it will be great if the 'Lister' allows you to have just the LFKs you need alone, then that is very much possible with Azhagi++.
- Using the 'Finalizer' tool, you can reorder the LFKs and have them appear just exactly as you want them to be, in the above 'Lister'. I have written more about this process in just the preceding section (Grid-based typing) and also in the 'Finalizer' section. Please read them fully.
- All said and done about the 'Lister', you have the more advanced and more sophisticated 'Floater' too. Please read about it too fully - here.
The LFKs FINALIZER- This is the crux or the pivot tool (at your service), as far as setting up and FINALISING your own preferred LFKs and making them appear at the top of the LFKs list in the floater and the main grid in the starting screen of Azhagi++.

- The various features (Filter By, Find Lkf, etc.) of this tool are self-explanatory, I believe. Just try out their working and you will understand them easily.
- You can very easily rearrange the LFKs in the starting default list of LFKs in such a way that all your preferred LFKs finally get arranged at the very top of the LFKs list. For this purpose, you can make use of the 'Move To a particular row', 'Move to Top', 'Move to Bottom', 'Move Up one row' and 'Move Down one row' facilities).
- You can even employ 'drag and drop', to drag a row from one position to another. To do the same, mouse click on any cell under the 'No.' column (the first or the leftmost column), and drag the row up or down, to the desired position, and then leave the mouse click.
- For the first 9 LFKs alone, the option to change their numbers is provided so that an LFK can be at the top but still have the number '9' associated with it, as per the wish of some user. In Azhagi++'s default LKFs list too, the top Tamil LKF has the number '3' associated with it. I have kept it so since Alt+3 was the hotkey in Azhagi+. If you want to change it to '1', you can, of course.
- Once you have decided your final list, you can press the 'Finalize the LFKs list' button so that every time Azhagi++ is started thereafter, your rearranged and finalized list of LFKs is the one which you will see in the 'Floater', 'Lister' and 'Finalizer' grids.
- Before pressing the abovementioned 'Finalize the LFKs list' button, you can select your preferred value in the 'Show Upto' listbox. This value determines upto which LFK you want to get shown in the 'Lister' (the opening screen's main grid) and the 'Floater'.
- Please note that you can very well change your 'Finalized' list (which you created earlier), at any time, by effecting the same steps as above again. You can of course change your finalized list as many times as you want. Absolutely no problems.
- In case you wish that all the hotkeys for all the LFKs should be processed, even if your finalized list is short (say, just 2 LFKs only - Tamil and Hindi), then you shall inform the same to Azhafgi++ by choosing '1' for the setting "Process hotkeys for all LFKs even if user's LFKs list is shorter?" in the 'Settings' screen.
- The 'Save Choices' and 'Load Choices' in the 'Finalizer' screen will be very useful, I believe, for some users (like Shri. Gopalan sir), who are inquisitive and explore a software a lot.
THE LFKs FLOATER !!!- This is a fantastic feature of Azhagi++, which can prove very useful to some (if not all) users.
- If user's need is to type in only one LFK, then he can have his floater in a much more compact manner too, as follows:

Yes! Possible!
- Well, if you are wondering what this floater is and of what of use it is, anyway, then read ahead.
The floater, as its name suggests, is a floating window. It can be made to float on top of all the other windows too. So, keeping that in mind, if a user has need to type in 5 different languages, one after the other, frequently^^, then he can have a floater with just those 5 languages (see sample screenshot 1, below), and with the 'Always on Top' option ticked. This way, if he is typing in an application (say 'Notepad'), then he can switch over from one language to another by just clicking the language in the floater itself. No need to press any hotkey. Of course, he can press the hotkeys also, if he wishes to, and the corresponding language in the floater will get highlighted automatically, in apple green (see sample screenshot 1 below). If he switches back to type in English, then, the earlier green-highlighted row will get highlighted in rose/red (see sample screenshot 2, below). I think the concept is clear with this example.
Sample screenshot 1
Sample screenshot 2
(^^) There are users who publish books, where, for words in one language (mostly user's mother tongue), transliteration/translation is given in 4 to 5 other languages. So, a single line typically will have 4 to 5 columns with the 1st column occupying a word in a particular language (say, Sourashtra) and the other columns having words in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, etc. This is just one use-case. There can be many other such use-cases. Please see sample screenshot below. The floater is shown with all its options too, in the following screenshot. You can opt not to show the options by clicking on 'Show/Hide Options' at any time.
Sample screenshot

- Users can play around with the various options, of which the 'Follow the typing' option may prove handy to some users. With this option kept ticked, changing the language in the floater can be achieved in a very very swift manner, since the floater will keep following your typing and appear right below where you are typing, all the time.
- The 'AutoFocus Typing Window' is an extremely useful option. By keeping this ticked, whenever you switch language by clicking in the floater, the focus will shift back to where you had the caret earlier in your app (say Notepad) so that you can seamlessly continue typing in Notepad, in the changed language.
- The 'Hook the Typing Window' option is for use only when you intend to type focusedly^^ in a single application alone. In that case, Azhagi++ needs to know initially the application, in which you are going to type. So, what you need to do is:
- Open (or revisit, if already open) the application (say 'Notepad') in which you are going to type.
- Immediately click on 'Hook the Typing Window' and your Notepad application will be identified by Azhagi++ as the application in which you are hereafter going to do focused typing.
- Whatever language was highlighted (in rose) earlier in rose/red in the floater will turn to green immediately
- Also, if 'AutoFocus' is kept ticked, the focus will immediately shift to the hooked window and you can start typing immediately, seamlessly.
- (^^) You can let this intention of yours known to Azhagi++ by choosing "Enable typing in that application alone" option in the opening screen of Azhagi++
- It is also possible to keep the focus on floater (i.e. as your top-facing window) and just keep pressing 'PrntScr and number' so that you can see visually what is the LFK getting selected and at the same time, the cursor would automatically focus back to your current typing window (say Notepad). This could be so convenient for some.
- Well, the possibilities for effecting typing in very many different convenient ways is possible using Azhagi++. The more you explore, the more ease and joy for you!
The floater - in normal state
Same floater - in compact state
Happy "Language Computing" using Azhagi++!!!
Humbly Yours

Easy solutions to issues faced (if any) while effecting conversions of MS Word documents- Well, so far, no major issues have been reported by users who have tried out the "Tamil Fonts Converter".
- Whatever minor (yet mightily irking ones) issues they have faced so far seem to be because of not effecting one "must-do-language-setting" in MS Word. It took quite some time for me to figure out this solution. Since even 2 of the users who were facing the minor issue could not find time to come out with any solution, I started to figure it out myself. Many hours got spent by me in finding out this solution. But when I found the solution finally, it was all joy, happiness and exuberance. It was all Beloved Baba'a Grace and Compassion finally. Sairam..... The solution is as follows (in MS Word 2007):
- Well, apart from the above, existence of some AutoCorrect and AutoFormat options may also cause problems. So, I once again request you to untick ALL the Autocorrect and AutoFormat options which you feel or know already that they might interfere with the conversion process.
- Even after effecting the language setting and doing the needful with regard to AutoCorrect/AutoFormat options, if you still face any issues during any of the conversions, contact me with samples of inputs and ouputs. But, not before you have written or said "at least" a few words of thanks to the Lord Almighty and a few words of praise to the Lord Almighty. The more thanks and praise you express in your words to the Lord Almighty, the more happy I shall be. Sairam.....

1. Click on 'Word Options' button.
2. In the screen which gets shown, click on 'Language Settings' button in the right handside.
3. You will get to see a screen with list of languages. Please see screenshot below for better understanding.
4. In this screen, kindly ensure that 'Tamil' is selected and seen in the right-hand-side list and not in the left-hand-side list. Just enabling 'Tamil' is enough. No need to install it, as such.

5. Once you have ensured the above, exit that screen, then 'Word Options' screen and finally 'MS Word' itself. This is a MUST.
6. Restart MS Word.
Note: According to your version of MS Word, the steps above and the screen above may vary.
