But, at the dawn of this century, when our country, Bharath, had just begun to shine like a sun in the sky of our software services industry, almost each and every one of our Indian folks was longing to type in their mother tongue and operate the computer. At those times, the one who created a revolution by developing “AZHAGI”, an amazing Transliteration Software for Tamil and other Indian languages, is this Mr. Viswanathan. If you, the reader of this article, are someone involved in works related to Tamil typing, then there is absolutely no need to introduce you to 'Azhagi' software or to explain its greatness!

He pursued Production Engineering & Management at the Regional Engineering College, Calicut, and later completed his computationally oriented postgraduate studies at Anna University. He began his professional career successfully in reputed organizations such as Bajaj Auto Limited (worked in its MIS department) and TCS.
Since luxury is an obstacle to seekers in the path that leads to the Almighty, it is only natural that the universe does not hesitate to jolt such souls awake with shocks. Souls that are ripening are not allowed to sleep on the silken mattresses, by the spiritual realms. Yes! It struck like a mighty thunderbolt - the rare illness that smote him in 1989. "A Beautiful Soul" is a rarity in these days of "Self-Promotion" and "Money Over Everything". Yet, on those rare occasions when we sense it, it is only appropriate that we delve deeper and recognize it, and appreciate and celebrate it.
We have been neighbors of Mr. Viswanathan for multiple decades and our family has gotten to know a lot of these pleasantly surprising traits of Mr. Viswanathan.
In these days when commercial considerations top the chart of every software developer - individual and corporate - Mr. Viswanathan not only has developed many applications that help countless people but also has ensured his applications are available cost free, including support of the applications.

Greetings. My name is Muralidharan. I am working as a computer operator in The Horticulture College and Research Institute in Periyakulam (Theni district), as a temporary worker. I have learnt Tamil typing. Still, I found it difficult to type Tamil fonts since many of the Tamil fonts (in computers) are available in different keyboard layouts. By chance, I got an opportunity to talk and discuss about this with Mr Viswanathan, Author of Azhagi.
Mr Viswanathan suggested that the solution for me is available via "Azhagi+" freeware. So, I learnt through Mr Viswanathan, all the Unique features and provisions available in Azhagi+ software and started using them. It became very easy for me to type in all the Tamil fonts in my preferred keyboard layout. After that, I started recommending Azhagi+ to many who came to me for help regarding Tamil typing.
Moreover, many a times, I have used the 'Direct MS Word document conversion tool' in Azhagi+ to help others to convert texts in one Tamil font to another Tamil font. Because of this, whoever came to me for help, got their needs satisfied and left with happiness. The true credit for this belongs to Azhagi+ software and Mr Viswanathan who has developed Azhagi+ software and offered it free to all.

Greetings. My name is Gopalakrishnan. I am a retired employee of Indian Overseas Bank. I am doing typing from my very early age. I have obtained Fastest Typist certificate for typing in English and Tamil. Moreover, I am also a “GODREJ Champion” (1982).
(Additional information for those who are interested: The "Godrej Champion" Typing Test refers to the historic Godrej National Speed Typing Championship, a prestigious competition from India that ran for years. A national speed typing contest held by Godrej (known for their typewriters) in India, starting in 1982. It challenged the fastest typists, with winners achieving incredible speeds)
I started to use Azhagi software for the first time in 2002 and I have been typing very easily and speedily since then.
Though I have learnt Tamil typing, it was very difficult for me to type Tamil fonts since the Tamil fonts are available in different keyboard layouts (in computers). After starting to use Azhagi+ software, I was able to type all Tamil fonts, very easily, in the same keyboard through which I learned Tamil typing.
Afterwards, I recommended Azhagi+ software to very many who approached me for help regarding Tamil typing. For this, the first and foremost reason is Azhagi+ software and Mr Viswanathan, who developed Azhagi+ and gave it free to all the users. Moreover, Mr Viswanathan has developed Azhagi++ software also now and given it free to all.
I had many doubts while typing in Sanskrit using Azhagi+ and Viswanathan Sir has clarified them.
I am very much indebted to Mr Gopal Sir and Mr Muralidharan also. They have clarified many of my doubts. I have typed more than 40 books so far and they have got published.

When I contacted SPR sir on 29-Dec-2025 to know whether he is in a position - physically and mentally - to attempt the translation, at his present age, he promptly did the translation and sent it to me, the next day itself!!! That was absolutely amazing. Incredible! He is such an adept in translation. I profusely thanked him with all my love.
In Feb 2026 or so, I thought I will spend some time (taking the help of AI engines, Google Translate, etc.) in making a few changes here and there in SPR sir's translation and upload it in azhagi.com but when I started making the changes, I realised that I was making more changes than I initially thought.
Eventually, I felt I will upload the translation which resulted finally, as a fresh translation itself since I had made many changes to the original. Note-1: Loving SPR (Shri. S.P. Ramamoorthy) sir was one of the very early users of Azhagi. May be the 3rd or 4th user - in the year 2000 or so. Actually, it is extremely hard to translate a write-up of the kind poet Shri. SaiPushkar has provided, giving full justification in capturing the exact feelings and emotions he has shared in Tamil. Shri. SaiPushkar's loving heart can be best appreciated only when someone who knows Tamil reads or hears the writeup in Tamil itself.
My appa actually cried over phone after reading the above writeup. Appa (94 years old) was feeling too emotional. He told several times that shri. SaiPushkar has written so so so well. He enquired where he stays. Just like Shri. SaiPushkar's appa (and many other such extremely hardworking appas in this world), my appa also struggled a lotttt to bring us all up (4 children), with his meagre salary. Sairam.....

In Feb 2026 or so, I thought I will spend some time (taking the help of AI engines, Google Translate, etc.) in making a few changes here and there in SPR sir's translation and upload it in azhagi.com but when I started making the changes, I realised that I was making more changes than I initially thought.
