Hearts and Hands - To Develop Words Databases
Dil Me Ram - Hath Me Kaam
The noble project - Build an ALL-WORDS database for ALL languages (esp. for Tamil OR at least for Tamil)
-
The idea is to build an all-encompassing database for each of the world languages (esp. Tamil) so that the database contains "ALL the WORDS" in that particular language. At its minimal level, even if the database contains just words (ALL of them) for each language, that itself is a MONUMENTAL help to the society. At its maximal level, for each word, the database can contain comprehensive meanings, related words (for e.g. பாரதியார் is a related word to மஹாகவி), synonyms, antonyms, categories (spiritual, sports, etc.), Tanglish (Hinglish, etc.), etc. etc. etc. I mean, sky is the limit for the kind of information each word can have.
Actually, it is sad that such all-words databases are not "FREELY" existing for any language, as far as I know. In my personal humble opinion, not today (2025) but years back itself (say, 2000 itself) such databases should have been available for "FREE DOWNLOAD" for the common public, absolutely free of cost. But, sadly, that is not the situation.
Background behind this noble project
-
This noble project is based on 'I AM That Word' (aka 'Love') application of Azhagi's where a first-of-its-kind 'Word Builder' facility exists - to build - i.e. collect (that too, automatically) - "ALL" past/existing/future Tamil (and potentially any world language's words) from various sources. The 'I am the Word' app possesses many other extremely beneficial features/tools too, which have been hitherto never-before-seen in Language computing - a comprehensive Word Searcher, Word Suggester/SpellChecker, Word Meaninger, Word Finder (Puzzle), Word Letterer (Analyser of words to the root level), Word Speedster (Typing Speedometer). All the aforesaid tools/features are designed to work at MAGICAL speeds#. See it to Believe it!
(#) which can be possibly upped further too, in future.
Already available 'Tamil word list' with 10+ Lakhs words
-
Actually, 'I am' suggests words instantly as one types in MS Word and makes use of a default word list (1500 words) only for that purpose. "I am" helps collecting words automatically and supremely fastly by scanning through user-selected folder in user's system. If you operate it, you will understand how superfastly it collects words from 1000s of files, avoiding duplicates too in that process. It can collect words from any Tamil wikipedia dump (very big file around 1.5GB) too. That process will tak time though (around 30 to 40 minutes). But, you need not do even that. Because, we (I and Gopalan sir) have already extracted around 14 lakh Tamil words from a Tamil Wikipedia dump and Gopalan sir can share the same with you. But then, Wikipedia dump has lots of misspelt and incorrect words. So, those kinds of words need to be deleted (using "I AM" itself) form the word list of 14 lakh words. If that can be done by some volunteers that would be of monumental help for the society.
Bigger-Faster

Bigger the Involvement, Bigger the Results.
Faster the Acts, Faster the Benefits.
மனமிருந்தால் மார்க்கம்.
Its "all in your hands" - to build these databases - fastly, efficiently, optimisedly.
எல்லாம் உங்கள் கையிலேயே இருக்கு.
ஊர் கூடி தேர் இழுத்தால் வேகமாய் இழுக்கலாம்.
Well, if your time/interest/health/situation permits and thus you wish to join hands in developing the all-encompassing databases for 'each of the languages, fields of study, epics, epos, meanings, etc.', slowly and steadily, in whatever little way, kindly write to me at BIRTHLESS.DEATHLESS@GMAIL.COM on how to go about this so that these databases can be built fastly, efficiently, optimisedly - with as many features as one can think of - for the ultimate benefit of the world society.
