No Tamil word has 'ýð' appearing in it. So, there is no need to type maNdai, aNdam etc. to generate 'Áñ¨¼',  '«ñ¼õ', etc. 'mandai', 'andam', etc. itself will do. i.e.

mandai                       andam
Áñ¨¼                «ñ¼õ

At the same time, suppose a place name is 'mandir' and is written in Tamil as 'ÁýÊ÷'. You can generate this also judiciously using  capital 'D'. i.e. type 'manDir'. It will generate 'ÁýÊ÷'. This type of judicious use of capital letters, you can use at appropriate places to generate what you exactly want. Do read thamizh equivalent for any English text topic now.

ó
naan                           maanhagaram                          mandhaaram    bandham
¿¡ý                     Á¡¿¸Ãõ                                              Áó¾¡Ãõ                          Àó¾õ

Starting a word with 'n' automatically takes it as 'ó' as in 'naan' above. A word can start after dot(.), space( ), comma(,), slash(/) etc. etc. Everywhere, the starting 'n' is treated as 'ó' only.

To get 'ó' in between a word, use 'nh', as in 'maanhagaram' (Á¡¿¸Ãõ).
But, there is no need to type 'banhdham' for 'Àó¾õ'. An easy 'bandham' will do.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ü
matravai                     katrathu
ÁüȨŠ               ¸üÈÐ

As seen above, there is no need to type 'nanRi', 'kaRRu', etc. to get words like ¿ýÈ¢, ¸üÚ, etc. Typing 'nandri', 'katru', etc. itself will do. 'dr' and 'tr' are intelligently mapped.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Š
namaskaaram.                        bas.                              baSSaa?                                   paasam.
¿ÁŠ¸¡Ãõ.                      ÀŠ.                       ÀŠ…¡?                           À¡ºõ.

Whenever  's' is followed by a mey, it is automatically considered as 'S', as in 'namaskaaram'. Whenever a word ends in 's' also, it is automatically considered as 'S' as in 'bas.' or 'bas pOgirathu'. In case, you really want 'Àî', you can always type 'bach'.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ö
kaai                            koi                                            pOi                   leo        leO
¸¡ö                      ¦¸¡ö                     §À¡ö            Ä¢§Â¡                    Ä¢§Â¡

As you have seen above, there is no need to use 'y' and type
kaay,  koy, pOy, liyo, liyO to get the above Tamil words.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
bhavan                       bavan
ÀÅý                    ÀÅý

Note: Many are accustomed to type names like 'barani', 'bavan'  etc. as 'bharani', 'bhavan' etc., where the 'h' is silent. Azhagi provides you an option 'Exclude h' under 'Preferences' menu by which you can have this 'h' ignored during transliteration. Read explanation for 'Exclude h' under 'Preferences’  to know more about this.
