Azhagi's Telugu Transliteration Scheme's Key Mappings
Telugu can be typed (via transliteration) using Azhagi, following the English to Telugu transliteration scheme (i.e. English-to-Telugu key mappings for phonetic transliteration) given below.

Note

x, X and ` [character under '~' in English keyboards] are used as modifiers and/or splitters

Vowels

అ = a, ఆ = aa/A, ఇ = i, ఈ = ee/ii/I, ఉ = u, ఊ = oo/uu/U

ఎ = e, ఏ = ae/E, ఐ = ai, ఒ = o ఓ = oa/O, ఔ = au/ou/ow

అం = aM/amx, అఁ = amxx, అః = aH

ఋ = rux, ౠ = Rux, ఌ = lux, ౡ = Lux

క్ + vowels

క = ka, కా = kaa/kA, కి = ki, కీ = kee/kii/kI, కు = ku, కూ = koo/kuu/kU

కె = ke, కే = kae/kE, కై = kai, కొ = ko, కో = koa/kO, కౌ = kau/kou/kow

కం = kaM/kamx, కఁ = kamxx, కః = kaH

కృ = krux, కౄ = kRux

Consonants

క = ka, ఖ = Ka/kha, గ = ga, ఘ = Ga/gha, ఙ = `ga

చ = ca/cha, ఛ = Ca/Cha, జ = ja, ఝ = Ja/jha, ఞ = `ja

ట = Ta, ఠ = Tha, డ = Da, ఢ = Dha, ణ = Na

Changeable key mappings – Add, Modify, Delete key mappings

Azhagi's key mappings are fully changeable, easily. All the key mappings you find in this page are 100% editable and customisable. In other words, you can EASILY effect "Add/Modify/Delete" actions on the key mappings given by me.

Clear-cut details and steps are present in changecreate.php page, to effect the abovesaid "add/modify/delete". In fact, you can create "your own" brand new mappings file too, with "your own" preferred key mappings.

Numerals

౧ = 1x, ౨ = 2x, ౩ = 3x, ౪ = 4x, ౫ = 5x
౬ = 6x, ౭ = 7x, ౮ = 8x, ౯ = 9x, ౦ = 0x

x, ` and X modifiers

x when applied after certain Telugu letters modifies them. For e.g.
kruxpaa = కృపా, Rux = ౠ, 1x = ౧ (numeral 1)
Whenever x does not take the role of a modifier, it just prints 'క్ష్'. For e.g.
laxman = లక్ష్మన్
` when applied before certain Telugu consonants modifies them. For e.g.
`g = ఙ్, `j = ఞ్
` when applied between certain Telugu consonants (like k`h, g`h, t`h, d`h, etc.) helps them to form their natural conjuncts. For e.g.
bakkiMghaam = బక్కింఘామ్ whereas bakkiMg`haam = బక్కింగ్హామ్
X can be applied between Telugu consonants to avoid forming the natural conjunct (which would have occurred otherwise). For e.g.
vatsalaa = వత్సలా whereas vatXsalaa = వత్‌సలా
X can also be applied between certain Telugu vowels (say 'ai' or 'ou') to help them get separated into their component vowels. For e.g.
priyaiMDiyaa = ప్రియైండియా whereas priyaXiMDiyaa = ప్రియ‌ఇండియా
