A piece of Mysorepaak (a sweet delicacy) has sweetness, weight, and shape; these cannot be separated, one from another. Each little part has sweetness, weight, and shape. We don’t find shape in one part, weight in another, and sweetness in a third! And when it is placed on the tongue, the taste is recognised, weight is lessened, and shape is modified - all at the same time! So too, the individual, the Soul, and the Supreme Lord are not separate; they are one and the same! Therefore, each individual deed must be full of the spirit of selfless service, divine love, and spiritual wisdom. In other words, each of life’s activities must be saturated with dedicated action, devotion to God, and spiritual wisdom. This is verily Yoga of the Supreme (Purushothama-yoga). It must be enacted in practice, not merely spoken in words! Spiritual discipline should be done constantly with an ever-expanding heart full of devotion and spiritual wisdom. (Ch 9, Prema Vahini)

ஒரு மைசூர்பாகுக் கட்டி இனிப்பு, எடை, ரூபம் ஆகியவற்றைக் கொண்டது; இந்த மூன்றும் ஒன்றிலிருந்து ஒன்றைப் பிரிக்க முடியாதவை. இந்த இனிப்புப் பண்டத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு சிறு பகுதியும் இனிப்பு, எடை மற்றும் ரூபத்தை உடையதாகும். ரூபத்தை ஒரு பாகத்திலும், எடையை மற்றொன்றிலும், இனிப்பை மூன்றாவதிலும் நாம் காண்பதில்லை. அதை நாவில் வைக்கும்போது, சுவை உணரப்படுகிறது, எடை குறைகிறது, ரூபம் மாறிவிடுகிறது - அனைத்தும் ஒரே சமயத்தில். அதைப் போலவே, ஜீவன், ஆத்மா, பரமாத்மா வெவ்வேறல்ல; அவை ஒன்றேதான். எனவே, ஒவ்வொரு தனிப்பட்ட செயலும், வாழ்க்கையின் அனைத்து செயல்பாடுகளும், சேவைமயமாக, ப்ரேம மயமாக, ஞானமயமாக ஆக வேண்டும். அதாவது வாழ்க்கையின் ஒவ்வொரு செயலும், கர்மம், பக்தி, ஞானம் ஆகியவற்றால் நிறைந்திருக்க வேண்டும். இதுவே உண்மையில் புருஷோத்தம யோகமாகும். அதை வெறும் வார்த்தைகளால் விவரிப்பதோடு நின்றுவிடாமல், செயலில் கடைப்பிடிக்க வேண்டும். தூய்மையான பக்தி ஞானத்தால் இதயத்தை மலரச் செய்துகொண்டு, ஆன்மிக சாதனை இடையறாது செய்யப்பட வேண்டும். பரிபூரண திரிகரண சுத்தியுடன் (எண்ணம், சொல், செயல் மூன்றிலும் தூய்மையுடன்) ஒரே ஸ்வரூபமான ஒன்றேயான இறைவன் மீது சிந்தனையை நிலைநிறுத்தி தெய்வத்துடன் ஐக்கியத்தை ஏற்படுத்திக்கொள்வதே பக்தியாகும்.
