Any task can be accomplished by practice. Practice is necessary for everything in life, whether it is walking, talking, eating, reading, or writing. When you are a child, your mother teaches you words like mother (amma), father (appa). All these come only with practice. You say that you want peace. For that also you need to put in some effort. All of you are squatting on the floor. Without practice, you cannot even sit in a cross-legged posture. If you want to perform a small drama, you start practising at least ten days in advance. The world is like a stage. All are actors. God is the director. You need practice for everything in this drama of life. Divinity can be attained only by following the spiritual path. The fire of wisdom is in every human being. If you neglect this fire of wisdom, it gets covered by the ash of ego, attachment, and hatred. Where does the ash come from? It comes only from the fire and ultimately covers the fire itself. Similarly, Divinity is in every human being. If you want to visualise your innate Divinity, first of all, you have to remove the ash of ego, attachment, and hatred. (Divine Discourse, Aug 22, 1996)

எந்த ஒரு செயலையும் பயிற்சியால் சாதிக்க முடியும். வாழ்க்கையில் நடப்பது, பேசுவது, சாப்பிடுவது, படிப்பது, எழுதுவது என எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் பயிற்சி அவசியம். நீங்கள் குழந்தையாக இருக்கும்போது, உங்கள் தாய் உங்களுக்கு அம்மா, அப்பா போன்ற வார்த்தைகளைக் கற்பிப்பார். இவை அனைத்தும் பயிற்சியால் மட்டுமே வருபவை. உங்களுக்கு நிம்மதி வேண்டும் என்று நீங்கள் கேட்கிறீர்கள். அதற்கும் நீங்கள் கொஞ்சம் முயற்சி செய்ய வேண்டும். நீங்கள் அனைவரும் தரையில் அமர்ந்திருக்கிறீர்கள். பயிற்சி இல்லாமல் நீங்கள் சம்மணமிட்டு உட்கார முடியாது. நீங்கள் ஒரு சிறிய நாடகத்தை நடத்த விரும்பினால், குறைந்தது பத்து நாட்களுக்கு முன்பே பயிற்சியைத் தொடங்கி விடுகிறீர்கள். உலகமே ஒரு நாடக மேடை போன்றது. அனைவரும் நடிகர்களே. இறைவன் தான் இயக்குனர். இந்த வாழ்க்கை எனும் நாடகத்தில் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் உங்களுக்குப் பயிற்சி தேவை. ஆன்மிகப் பாதையை பின்பற்றினால்தான் தெய்வத்தை அடைய முடியும். ஞானாக்னி ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனிடமும் உள்ளது. இந்த ஞானாக்னியை நீங்கள் உதாசீனப்படுத்தினால், அது அகந்தை, பற்றுதல், வெறுப்பு ஆகியவற்றின் சாம்பலால் மூடப்பட்டு விடும். இந்த சாம்பல் எங்கிருந்து வருகிறது? அது அக்னியிலிருந்துதான் வருகிறது; முடிவில் அது அக்னியையே மூடி விடுகிறது. அதுபோல ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனிடமும் தெய்வம் இருக்கிறது. உங்கள் உள்ளுறை தெய்வத்தை நீங்கள் தரிசிக்க விரும்பினால், முதலில், நீங்கள் அகந்தை, பற்றுதல், வெறுப்பு ஆகியவற்றின் சாம்பலை அகற்ற வேண்டும்.
