x, ` and X modifiers
  • x when applied after certain Assamese letters modifies them. For e.g.
    kruxpaa = কৃপা, Rux = ৠ, ঽ = ऽ (avagraha), ১ = १ (Assamese numeral 1)
  • Whenever x does not take the role of a modifier, it just prints 'ক্ষ'. For e.g.
    laxman = লক্ষ্মন

  • ` when applied before certain Assamese consonants modifies them. For e.g.
    `g = ঙ, `j = ঞ, j`j = জ্ঞ
  • ` when applied between certain Assamese consonants (like k`h, g`h, t`h, d`h, etc.) helps them to form their natural conjuncts. For e.g.
    bakkiMghaam = বক্কিংঘাম whereas bakkiMg`haam = বক্কিংগ্হাম

  • X can be applied between Assamese consonants to help form their half-consonants. For e.g.
    rakshaa = ৰক্ষা whereas rakXshaa = ৰক্‍শা

  • XX can be applied between Assamese consonants to help form consonants with halant symbol. For e.g.
    baakyaa = বাক্যা whereas baakXXyaa = বাক্‌যা
  • X or XX can be applied between certain Assamese vowels (say 'ai' or 'ou') to help them get separated into their component vowels. For e.g.
    priyaiMDiyaa = প্ৰিযৈংডীযা whereas priyaXiMDiyaa = প্রিয‍ইংডিযা
