Azhagi
- Azhagi (released way back in 2000 itself) is the predecessor to Azhagi+ (released in April 2011).
- You can download 'Azhagi' from azhagi.com if and when you find the need for Azhagi's features (a few of which are special and also NOT present in Azhagi+). The key features of 'Azhagi' are as follows. The full list of features is at feats.html
- Unique Tamil transliteration scheme; a clear-cut transliteration scheme for all other Indian languages.
- Single global hotkey to directly type/transliterate in Indian languages in any other external application.
- An in-built 'Unicode editor' to transliterate in Indian languages from within Azhagi application itself.
- 'Unicode fonts lister' - to list the Unicode fonts in your system for each major Indian language.
- Sophisticated tools for Tamil:
- Auto-Transliteration
- Reverse Transliteration
- Dual-Screen transliteration
- SAT transliteration
- An in-built "Non-Unicode" editor (for those who wish the same) - to type/transliterate in Tamil.
- Support for typing in 'Tamil Typewriter' mode also, in ANY application.
- Comprehensive in-built Help.
- Much the same way as some of Azhagi's special features are not found in Azhagi+, many of Azhagi+'s special features will not be found in Azhagi either. So, as of now, Azhagi and Azhagi+ have many features not common to both.
- The full list of differences between Azhagi and Azhagi+ have been tabulated in diffs.html.
