People have been born many times before and have lived out their lives, loving and getting immersed in love and attaching themselves to others. But does anyone now have a trace of all that? Does anyone know where all that has gone? Does anyone worry about those they loved then? Does anyone remember them at least now and then? No. The same type of love and attachment were there then also, but with the passage of time, it has been forgotten. So too, when one departs from this world, the love one had for others and the joy, pain, and happiness one had through that love will be forgotten. Like the playgrounds of children, the senses of action of man will also change, from here to there and from there to somewhere else! Fixing their minds on the insecure changing love, how tragic it is that people forget the cultivation of the disciplines that will give them the permanent bliss of the Lord! (Dhyana Vahini, Ch 6)

மனிதர்கள் இதற்கு முன் பல பிறவிகள் எடுத்து, நேசித்து, அன்பில் ஆழ்ந்து, தங்களை பிறருடன் இணைத்துக் கொண்டு, தங்கள் வாழ்க்கைகளை வாழ்ந்திருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால், எவரிடமாவது அவற்றின் ஒரு சுவடாவது இப்போது இருக்கிறதா? அவையனைத்தும் எங்கே போனது என்று யாருக்காவது தெரியுமா? தாங்கள் முன்பு நேசித்தவர்களைப் பற்றி யாராவது கவலைப்படுகிறார்களா? குறைந்தபட்சம் அவ்வப்போதாவது அவர்களை யாராவது நினைத்துப் பார்க்கிறார்களா? இல்லையே. இதே மாதிரியான அன்பும் பற்றுதலும் அப்போதும் இருந்தன, ஆனால் காலப்போக்கில் அது மறந்து போய்விட்டது. அதுபோலவே, ஒருவர் இவ்வுலகை விட்டுப் பிரியும்போது, பிறர் மீது கொண்ட அன்பும், அந்த அன்பினால் பெற்ற சுக-துக்கம், சந்தோஷம் ஆகியவை மறந்து போய்விடும். குழந்தைகளின் விளையாடும் இடங்களைப் போல, மனிதனின் கர்மேந்திரியங்களும், இங்கிருந்து அங்கும், அங்கிருந்து வேறெங்கோ மாறிவிடும். நிலையற்ற மாறிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும் அன்பில் மனதை வைத்து, இறைவனின் நிரந்தரப் பேரானந்தத்தைத் தரும் சாதனைகளை செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதை மக்கள் மறந்துவிடுவது எவ்வளவு பரிதாபமானது! பொழுது சாய்ந்தவுடன் ஒரு சத்திரத்தில் தங்கிவிட்டு, விடிந்ததும் புறப்பட்டுச் செல்லும் வழிப்போக்கனைப் போல நீங்கள் இந்த உலகத்திற்கு வர வேண்டும்!
