Microsoft's Latha.ttf is an unicode font which gets installed automatically along with
WinXP. You can find it in the 'c:\windows\fonts' folder of any XP installation. You may
search on 'latha.ttf' in google and get to know further details. Arial Unicode MS is yet
another font which covers the Tamil unicode range of characters.
· In case of dynamic Tamil web pages (using the MS supported .eot type dynamic
font
and not .pfr) viewed online, IE does not require any unicode font to be installed in the
Win98/ME system whereas Firefox/Netscape does require a font.
Note :
1. If you failed to see your firefox show unicode Tamil characters properly despite various
attempts, then wait for the next version of IE. It is supposed to incorporate all the
advantageous and user-friendly features of Firefox.
2. If unicode Tamil characters are seen properly for some sites but not for other sites, it will
be most probably because of the other sites having Tamil texts in "full justified" alignment.
Firefox goes wild whenever it sees fully justified Tamil text.
