How to type in Unicode Tamil in Azhagi and in ANY other windows application
(Outlook Express, MS-Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)?

Before attempting to know anything about Unicode, we suggest you to have your system
enabled for Unicode fully, if possible. Click here to know how

By fully enabling Unicode in your system, advanced
Tamil computing like Sorting in Tamil (in
MS-Excel, Access, MS-Word tables etc.), Data Filtering in Tamil (in MS-Excel), Find&Replace in
Tamil (in various MS applications like MS-Word, Excel, Notepad, Powerpoint, Access etc.),
File/Folder names in Tamil, Databases in Tamil (in MS-Access), etc. can be achieved.
If enabling Unicode is not possible for certain reasons, that's not an issue, as such. Do please
read ahead.
How to type in Unicode Tamil?
a) In Azhagi
b) In MS-Word and
MS-Powerpoint
c) In all other windows applications
Office 2000 and earlier versions may not support Unicode typing, using Azhagi. You may have
to upgrade to Office 2002 and later versions.

· Not all applications support Unicode. For e.g. older versions of Yahoo! Messenger. So, even
after you effect all the settings, when you try to type in Unicode in such applications, you
might only see question marks or boxes appearing.
