Note:
·      To type in Unicode in Azhagi's in-built Unicode editor, you may not be required to enable Unicode fully.

·      Azhagi's in-built Unicode editor may work in most Win98 systems too.

·      Once you have generated Unicode Tamil text using Azhagi's in-built Unicode editor, you can copy/paste the Tamil text to any external application/window like Wordpad, Outlook Express, Blogs, Google/Yahoo Email Message windows, online groups (e.g. http://groups.google.com/group/azhagi) etc.

·      If the pasted text does not appear correctly in certain applications like MS-Word, Notepad etc., then Unicode might have to be enabled fully.

·      To get to know how to enable Unicode fully, read ahead.

Fonts regarding:
Latha is the font automatically chosen by Windows in the above operating systems, whenever you type in Unicode. If you find a font by name 'Arial Unicode MS' in your system, you might use that too. Apart from these, many free Unicode Tamil fonts are available on the net (incl. around 25 FREE Unicode fonts made available to the public by the GOI). For details, see http://azhagi.com/free.html#freefonts.

Win98 and WinME:
As of now, in Win98/ME, you can type in Unicode from within Azhagi only if:
1.   There is atleast one Unicode font installed in your system
2.   Your uniscribe processor 'usp10.dll' is of the right version and is registered properly in your system.

Even after complying with the above requirements, if you are unable to see Unicode characters while typing in Azhagi's Unicode editor, you may try upgrading to Windows98 SE (i.e Windows98 second edition) in case you are not using it already. As such, we advise you to switch over to Windows XP or Vista as you can do a LOT more using the Power of Unicode. Atleast, you can change your system to dual-boot mode so that you can work with both Windows 98 and Windows XP.
